Job description:

VIP is currently seeking a Traveling Consultant to assist our Clients with their technology assessment, performance testing, tuning, and optimization consulting needs. The position requires a strong technical background with previous programming skills in C/C++, Visual Basic and Java and solid project lead experience. VIP works with a variety of private and public sector Clients in a variety of technical environments including web-based (Java and HTML), ERP (SAP, Oracle), custom Client Server (VB, VC++, PowerBuilder), and with diverse databases (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server). This position requires the ability to easily assimilate and apply new technologies in diverse business and technical environments.

The successful candidate will formulate strategies to isolate, identify, and remedy performance deficiencies in enterprise applications. Further, the successful candidate will advise Clients on project needs, will coordinate the efforts of the team, and will implement technology solutions. Given our depth of expertise in performance optimization, tuning, and testing, our staff are often responsible for assisting Clients with the setup, design, and implementation of on-site solutions using HP/Mercury*s automated testing products (WinRunner, LoadRunner, QuickTest Pro and TestDirector). As an invitation only HP/Mercury Gold level Solutions Partner and HP/Mercury Premier Channel Alliance Partner, we offer our consultants specific expertise, training and certification (CPC, CI) on Mercury tools allowing us to implement HP/Mercury solutions with demonstrated expertise and success. We have implemented many successful solutions with Fortune 500 companies and with large Federal and State government entities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong initiative and motivation, the ability to understand various software and architectural implementations, the ability to work on a variety of Client projects and to coordinate with a variety of Client teams, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. This position requires the successful candidate to travel a minimum of 75% to US domestic Client locations and to provide consulting services on several one to three-month projects throughout the year.
