Sr Network Engineer - Consultant 1

Day to Day Work This position will include working with the data floor/facilities team, DBAs, SAs, and other staff in providing technical solutions and connectivity for mission critical applications. Assignments range in complexity from basic analysis and problem solving to developing recommendations for complete business solutions or technical applications. Interact with all aspects of facility and personnel on a daily basis to provide connectivity and accessibility to all onsite and visiting personnel. Provide network administration, configuration, and documentation of complex, cross-platform solutions including LAN/WAN, network statistics analysis, modeling, auditing and reporting. Maintain accurate data floor/facility footprint of 145,000 square foot facility. Provide troubleshooting, equipment recommendations, scheduling, and installation expertise to the customer as part of a highly motivated team. Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with bridges and other devices. Resolve interoperability problems across all platforms including email, file transfer, audio visual, multimedia, teleconferencing. Support acquisition of hardware/software/subcontractor services. May act as technical project leader. Understand the challenge of government facility customer requirements in applying the industry practices and techniques.Outstanding technical, writing, and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and communication skill to communicate with end users, ability to work in a team environment. BS/BA or equivalent work experience, along with 5 years successful networking, facility, or data floor experience. Experience with project scheduling and meeting development deadlines. Skilled in MS Office tools. US Citizen, clearable to TS level required.
