Sr. Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:*

? Lead a team of operationally oriented technical experts in support of Comcast's national TCP/IP public broadband network.
? Provide management oversight, guidance, direction, and vision to direct reports including Team Leads and Principal Engineers.
? Regularly interface with Operations and Engineering management.
? Oversee the definition of operational and support requirements for new network related technologies and products. Drive operational consideration into all technology decisions and vendor selection activities.
? Oversee and improve processes for new technology and product introduction to the production environment.
? Lead the engineering team responsible for troubleshooting complex network related problems escalated from the Operations NOC.
? Develop training and certification curricula for senior level networking experts.
? Mentor first line management and senior level technical staff regarding career development and professional improvement.
? Assist in capital and operating budget preparation, management, and reporting
? Develop personnel performance reviews, interview and select candidates, and perform other administrative and management duties as assigned.
? Carry a pager 7x24
? Limited travel and occasional off-hours support may be required.
? Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
? Ability to work mandatory overtime
? Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills:
EDUCATION:

? Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and three or more years of related experience. 5 or more years of experience with IP networking in an ISP environment can be substituted.

EXPERIENCE:

? Demonstrated exceptional dynamic leadership, interpersonal, decision-making, and communication skills.
? Distinct and defensible philosophies regarding the management of large public networks, approaches to new product deployment, and techniques for building solid relationships between engineering and operations organizations.
? Five years management experience in an ISP environment.
? Extensive large ISP experience and advanced Cisco certifications may be acceptable in lieu of education.
? Basic understanding of Internet routing protocols, WAN technologies, router configuration and troubleshooting.
? Basic understanding of TCP/IP network security devices and techniques
? Basic understanding of DHCP, DNS, and IP address management tools
? Proven analytical and problem solving skills
