The position of Senior Network Engineer requires an individual with experience in design, implementation, support, and management of complex data and voice networks. This position entails leadership in the design of future networks as the company grows, including product evaluation, testing, participation in product development, and in-depth troubleshooting.
Requirements:
· 5-10 years of experience as a Network Engineer with emphasis on architecture, design, and implementation.
· Experience in designing, implementing, operating and troubleshooting complex data networks in a service provider environment.
· Expert-level understanding of Layer 2 and 3 internetworking technologies.
· Good understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP, netflow, access-control lists, policy-based routing, firewalls, peering,VPN and DNS.
· Significant BGP/EIGRP design, implementation, and troubleshooting experience in an enterprise environment.
· Experience with MPLS in a provider environment is preferred.
· Experience with Quality of Service in various data/voice network implementations.
· Experience with all Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco ASA firewalls, and ACS.
· Ability to comprehend, analyze and research problems of a complex nature, make judgment decisions and recommendations as to their solution.
· Participation in 24x7 on-call rotation.
Education Requirements
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree with course work in computer science, or equivalent work experience.
· CCNP required or equivalent.
· CCIE Certification or equivalent experience preferred.
Abilities required
* Data o Network based LAN and WAN protocols o Understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals o Cisco switching and routing knowledge (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) o Circuit knowledge (Frame relay, DS3, DS1, ISDN) o Knowledge of network monitoring tools (Netcool, Websense, NetQOS, NetIQ, Vitalsuites, Ehealth)
* Security o Strong security mindset and are comfortable with working in UNIX-based environments including Sun Solaris, Nokia, Cisco and Linux. o Willing to acquire in-depth knowledge of network- and host security technologies and products (such as firewalls, Network IDS, scanners) and continuously improve these skills o Design and deployment of technical security controls including firewalls, network intrusion detection and intrusion protection in a multi vendor environment
