Sr. Data Architect / 08-16013
Position Description:
The Sr. Data Architect has a key role in designing, developing, and implementing data warehousing/business intelligence solutions in a large complex environment. The Sr. Data Architect must be experienced in all phases of data modeling, data warehousing, data mining, data entity analysis, logical data base design and relational data base definition. This position requires in-depth knowledge of data analysis/data base technologies and tools, a broad knowledge of system and technology alternatives, excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and IS managers. The Sr. DA will have active participation in project development throughout the entire SDLC lifecycle. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: design of data models and logical data bases at the data element level consistent with the corporate architectural models, establishment of data element naming and description standards and conventions, and consulting with data base administration and client areas in the transformation of business requirements into relational data base definitions and for resolving questions during the translation to a physical data base design.The Senior Data Architect should enjoy solving challenging problems, be confident and comfortable with working in new environments, and communicating face-to-face with clients in a technical setting. Strong interpersonal skills are a key factor, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will also be able to take initiative, prioritize and multi-task, work well in a team environment, work with minimal supervision, take responsibility for work decisions, learn and apply new technology quicklyand adapt well to a wide variety of job-related situations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in a technical area, preferably computer science or engineering. Graduate degree desirable. Experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years experience designing, developing, implementing enterprise data architectures: data and object modeling, data mapping, metadata, and repository creation. Experience with full system lifecycle for enterprise application development. Facilitate business requirements analysis, Conversion Skills, Entity Relationship diagramming, Data Warehouse and Mart Modeling, Data Architectural skills, Database design trade-offs, Data dictionaries, Oracle, SQL Server, SQL, OLTP tools, Case tools, Reporting tools, metadata message formats, analysis and design and Data Connectivity. Strong knowledge of development, modeling, and implementation of logical models based on client business and information requirements on the enterprise level. Demonstrated ability to analyze existing information/ application enterprise architecture models and recommend, design, create and implement alternatives to methodology and modeling tools. Design and manage data and metadata data delivery components. Comprehensive business process and strategic business analysis. Experience with Windows and UNIX environments.
