The ideal candidate will have experience with .NET development (preferably C#), Object Oriented Design (OOD), design patterns, relational databases (preferably SQL Server), and an Analytical or Scientific background. Convenient Red Line location, Cambridge, MA. Must possess US citizenship or Green Card and must be clearable for position of public trust. Essential Job Functions CSC in support of the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center is seeking a Software Programmer/Analyst to work as part of a team integrating complex aviation software and relational databases for the purpose of modeling environmental effects due to aviation. We seek a motivated individual to help integrate a collection of existing software and database components that cover economic, aerodynamic, and geographic aspects of aviation's influence on the environment. The candidate should have experience in object oriented software development. Preferably that experience will have come from large-scale, distributed, or service oriented architecture efforts based on the Microsoft .NET framework that include relational database system components. General familiarity with commercial aviation operations is a significant plus. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field preferred Four or more years of programming or testing experience Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software Other Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Science, or Computer Science desired C# experience desired OOD experience required Familiarity with design patterns desired Relational database (preferably SQL Server) experience required Scientific analysis experience desired Matlab familiarity a plus Ability to work as part of team and independently Interpersonal skills to interact with team members Communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Public Trust Create Success
