Software Engineer - SSA
Jacob & Sundstrom, Inc. is a Baltimore-based Information Technology consulting firm. We're seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Woodlawn, Maryland. Summary:
This position calls for a computer programmer with solid experience in full life cycle software development, and working as part of a small development team. Daily activities will include design, implementation, and integration efforts. Our team assists a large government entity in their efforts to comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12, the software we develop and integrate is geared toward meeting that goal.
Essential Functions:
* Design, development and integration of software components.
* Analyze customer needs and provide software solutions as part of a team focused on meeting HSPD-12 goals.
* Create documentation to support software development life cycle to include requirements documents and software design documents.
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Nine (9) years of software development experience plus a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field (or four years of additional experience)
* Proficiency working with Java, JSP, and JavaScript.
* Exposure to PL/SQL, C, C++, VB, and .NET a plus.
* Experience with full software development life cycle.
* Experience with developing as part of a team.
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients both technical and non-technical.
* Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and learn skills necessary for project completion.
* Mature, self-motivated, adaptable and able to work well in a group environment.
* Ability to develop and execute detailed written plans for tasks and projects.
