Senior Web Applications Developer (PHP)

Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of web pages and applications providing the user experience surrounding our free online web games and associated online entertainment offeringsWork with management to develop product and project plans, determine resource allocation, assess feasibility of new product conceptsLead the integration of games, multimedia, and other third-party content into the web site and web experienceDrive site architecture to support growth in site traffic as well as features and functionalityCreate design specifications, installation directions, and operational documentationSupport QA in testing functionality, performance, and failure modesUpdate requirements, bug, and problem databasesSupport Operations in instrumentation of applications and componentsWork effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive mannerEducate peers and staff with regard to the application as well as new technologies that may help drive the product forward or promote efficienciesOther duties as assigned

 

 

Required Skills and Experience:BS Computer Science or equivalent experience5+ years experience in a fast-paced web development environmentAbility to lead the design, development and implementation of highly scalable and reliable web application products with minimal management oversightAbility to fully scope out the impact of an implementation by considering all of the necessary changes and any impact they may have on other parts of the productDemonstrated ability to write concise, manageable and easy to read codeProficient in PHP, JavaScript and CSSKnowledge of SQL (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, or Informix)Experience using version control, requirements and bug tracking systems Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented development environmentExperience with Flash, Perl and/or other common web languages a plusWeb page layout and design aptitude a plus
