A Senior Storage Engineer in the Infrastructure Planning and Design organization is responsible for the "Engineer, Design, Build" steps of IT infrastructure service delivery; working with fellow members of the Database/Storage/Backup engineering team taking requirements and translating them into solutions ready for deployment to operational support teams. The Storage Engineer will design and build solutions based on business requirements, enterprise architecture, and knowledge of appropriate systems and system software. Knowledge and leadership in emerging storage technologies such as IT business continuity, replication, encryption, de-duplication, storage virtualization, thin provisioning, virtual tape, storage resource management (SRM), and database cloning is expected. This role also provides 3rd and 4th level support and communicates periodically with administrators on systems instrumentation, system status, system changes, problems, enhancements and potential impacts. This individual will also lead small- to medium-sized initiatives/projects, participate in training and coaching non-senior administrators or other engineers, and collaborate with peers throughout the IT organization in workshops and reviews. The Storage Engineer will be a liaison responsible for representing infrastructure technology capabilities to the business, and also bring business requirements back into the engineering processes.Qualifications 5+ years of experience with storage systems; providing 3rd and 4th level storage systems support to database, storage and/or tape backup administrators 3+ years experience engineering solutions and instrumentation for EMC and/or Hitachi Storage Area Networks (SAN), NetApps Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Veritas Netbackup Tape Backup/Restore technology for mission critical, enterprise applications and databases 3+ years combined experience as a senior engineer, project manager, team lead, or manager, to include training other team members, coaching, and mentoring Demonstrated administration experience with UNIX (Solaris and HP/UX preferred) and Windows servers, including partnering with system administration, database administrators, operations & production support, and applications teams Demonstrated experience leading small- to medium-sized technology (preferably storage or backup-related) projects in support of business initiatives Demonstrated experience integrating enterprise architectures into viable, usable, and supported solutions then deployed into the operational environments including application and database servers Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and presentation skills, and project management skills Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with internal associates, external customers, and vendors Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment Knowledge of the financial industry preferred Knowledge of database administration preferred, specifically MSSQL, Oracle, and/or Sybase RDBMS Bachelors Degree in CIS, MIS, or a related field highly preferredWe offer excellent salaries, a progressive environment and a premier benefits package that includes: Medical, dental and vision coverage effective day one The ability to accrue three weeks vacation in your first year 15% of annual salary plus bonuses contributed by the company to your retirement plan, up to IRS limits Generous educational assistance Annual $400 health and wellness reimbursement Paid, comprehensive training programs Team-oriented working environment Business casual dressWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
