Senior Storage Engineer

Senior Storage Engineer for Xiotech and 3Par

 

The candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, upgrade, troubleshooting and future design of the client's complete storage network consisting of multiple enterprise Cisco 9500 FC switches, including remote Disaster Recovery connectivity via an ISL link, and storage space in excess of 50TB.

 

Duties:

 

1.  Perform administration tasks for LUNs on storage appliances and

servers.

2.  Deploy, configure, and maintain SAN and NAS storage devices and

switches.

3.  System tuning and capacity planning activities.

4.  Data migrations between SANs, LUN Creation, Presentation and Masking

Interface with clients

5.  Create and administer VSANs, FCIP connections, and ISLs.

6.  Ability to participate in off-hours and weekend support.

7.  Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide cross-training.

8.  Suggest improvements based on technology, best practices, or

changing requirements.

 

Required Skills:

9.  Experience with equipment from storage vendors XioTech & 3Par.

10. Windows system design and engineering vis-à-vis storage attachment.

11. Experience with SCSI and fibre channel devices (Cisco 9500

preferred).

12. Strong technical project management skills.

13. Strong presentation, communication (written and spoken) and

coordination skills.

 

Desired Skills:

1.  Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information

technology or related field preferred.

2.  VMware VCP Certification

3.  Windows Administration, MS SQL, IIS, Exchange

4.  Experience with backup/restore, disaster recovery plan.

5.  Experience with Cisco 9500 MDS SANTap, Thin Provisioning, OnStor,

HPOV
