Senior Security Engineer
Celerity seeks to hire a talented Senior Security Engineer to work for a highly reputable Telecommunications company in the Northern Virginia area.
Sr. Engineer
Total Experience: Five years security engineering experience
The Contractor's Ops supervisor must meet or exceed a minimum of
five years of "hands-on" security engineering experience in the
field of computer penetration testing and Intrusion Detection. In
addition this individual must also meet or exceed one year of
management experience, supervising security staff who conducted
information system security analysis.
This individual must have specific working knowledge in field of
security intrusion detection, packet examination, security system
penetration testing, and management
Education and Other Requirements. Preferred CISSP certification.
Overview
The strategic goal of the Security Operations team is to implement
day-to-day operations associated with multiple technical security
controls as precisely detailed in numerous Standard Operating
Procedures. Standard Operating Procedures are received from the
Security Engineering Organization and approved by the COTR. Where
deficient, the Security Operations team opens problem reports with the
Security Engineering team for procedure clarification and enhancement.
Specific responsibilities of the Security Operations team include:
- 7 x 24 security incident handling. A real time log of observed
security events is published and available in real time throughout the
Federal Judiciary.
- Correlation and analysis of security inputs from multiple sources
including but not limited to IDS/IPS consoles, firewall logs, real time
packet traces, host logs, for profit intelligence services.
- Vulnerability management. Using multiple tools such as the ISS
Enterprise Scanner, MetaSploit, Core-Impact, WebInspect and custom
developed tools the security operations team uses an iterative technique
of test, notify, escalate, and retest to manage a vulnerability
detection and remediation program for the Federal Judiciary. The
vulnerability management program includes custom remediation advice for
system administrators.
- Linux and Windows web service and server support, to include
building servers and recommending to customers methods to secure web
servers
- Management hotspots detailing serious security incidents detected at
the National Gateways.
- Change management of key security configuration items such as
documentation, firewall policy, and IDS/IPS signature sets.
- Patch management with audit trail support for infrastructure servers
installed at that National Gateways.
- Publish weekly significant actions and monthly summaries of detected
activity and responses.
- Implementation of an extensible secure knowledgebase that details
Judiciary specific threats, security controls, and procedures.
