Senior Sales - outside, technical, managed IT services
Our client’s success lies in our company culture, the quality and dedication of their employees, and their commitment to providing the best service and solution to their customers. They are a privately held 13 year old Managed IT services and Collocation solutions company in Houston, Texas. They provide services on the following products in more than 100 markets in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific:
High Speed IP (internet) connectivity; Data Center Collocation real estate; Content Delivery Network (CDN); Managed Servers (Complex Hosting); Managed Network and Security solutions such as IP VPN (MPLS); managed firewalls, routers, load balancers, switches; and Intrusion Detection Systems.
They are looking for a Senior Technical Sales Representative to prospect for new customers and up-sell to an existing base in the region with 25% travel expected. This position is vital to the growth of the company, and you will have direct access to upper management to insure your success. All Houston leads will go to this person, and you will be given an existing base to cultivate.
Responsibilities:
· Work autonomously in creating and managing a strategic sales plan for your territory including personal goals and objectives.
· Be (or become) intimately familiar with target industries to seek out High Speed IP, CDN, and Managed IT Services customers, including but not limited to Web 2.0 companies, Media and Online Content providers, IP TV, Internet technology companies, SAAS Companies, and other Emerging Internet Technology companies.
· Foster strong relationships with key decision-makers to understand the business needs and how we solve those needs.
· Demonstrate strong consultative selling experience with the ability to listen, extract information and leverage resources to effectively provide solutions to customer needs.
· Work with Sales engineers to develop client proposals and contracts, as well as Marketing and Operations to help develop programs and tools required for successful selling.
· Build and consistently maintain a pipeline with 4x coverage of annual quota.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 7 years of sales related experience.
· Bachelor’s degree or proven track record required.
· Proven successful track record of consistent over achievement in developing new business.
· Experience with IP (Data/Networking), Collocation, Managed IT, or CDN Industry experience highly desirable, was well as in depth knowledge of one or more.
· Experience with any of the following companies strongly favored:
Qwest, Level 3, SAVVIS, Limelight, Global Crossing, WorldCom, MCI, Cisco, Equinix, Switch and Data, Internap, The Planet, Verizon, Sprint
· Must be willing to travel 25% of the time both in the US and possibly overseas.
