Senior Programming Analyst

We are currently seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst for our Silver Spring, MD facility. The successful candidate will independently investigate, document and analyze client requirements. You should be able to anticipate technical and non-technical problems, and develop preventive action plans. In this role you will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors; solves both technical and non-technical (e.g., coordination, collaboration) problems in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards; and identifies and pursue problem trends and determine root cause of problems.As a Sr. Programmer Analyst, your responsibilities will include:-Perform software design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and installation in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards. -Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of applications, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.-Performs system administration, including system security, configuration changes, software update management, and data dictionary maintenance. -Provide technical support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues, take corrective actions and/or coordinate with other IT staffs or vendors as appropriate to meet service level agreements.-Conduct and/or participate in the analysis of client business processes and functional requirements and the preparation of appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.-Contribute in task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities.-Develop and maintain project support materials such as work plans, meeting agendas, minutes, issue logs, and other support documentation.-Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and maintain confidentiality of informationMinimum Requirements:-Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.-4+ years IT related experience.-2+ years programming experience as a web application developer/architect with extensive experience in developing and consuming Web Services and in depth knowledge of associated technologies-1+ years experience in gathering and documenting functional requirements in a structured SDLC environment... -Ability to work in a team environment, prioritize tasks, effectively multi-task, strong work ethic; self-confidence; good time-management skills required.-Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions.-Able to sort through competing priorities and take charge to committed deadlines using logical and systematic approach to problem solving.Preferred Requirements:-Experience in 24x7 environments.-Background in healthcare applications.Apply online at jobs.kp.org and enter requisition number 73565.
