Senior Programmer Analyst (Mainframe/COBOL)

Requirements:

Ø Bachelors Degree or equivalent IS experience

Ø Five or more years in software development and support in a mainframe environment.

Ø Experience with COBOL and mainframe related technologies is required.

Ø Experience with relational databases (DB2, IDMS, SQL etc.).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ø Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ø Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ø Effective as an individual contributor or in a team environment.

Ø Pager rotation/off hours implementation and support are required.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Ø Assist with defining and meeting business requirements.

Ø Prepare detailed software specifications.

Ø Utilize mainframe programming languages (COBOL etc. ).

Ø Provide program and system level estimates.

Ø Conduct code walk-throughs to assure quality of programs developed by other associates.

Ø Assist with interviewing and selecting potential job candidates.

Ø Provide leadership related to technical aspects of systems development and design.

Ø Ensure tools and best practice processes are in place for technologies.

Ø Proactively seek technical improvements and take the initiative to communicate/implement solutions.
