Senior Network Administrator

Union Switch & Signal, Inc. (US&S) in Pittsburgh, PA has an immediate need for a Senior Network Administrator:

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

Minimum of 10 years experience in the following technologies.  

§ Strong understanding of Microsoft Server and Microsoft Desktop platforms including installation, integration, configuration and tuning.  Intimate knowledge of all components of these platforms is a requirement. 

§ Strong understanding of Microsoft's Active Directory specific to design, architecture, deployment and troubleshooting is also required. 

§ Strong knowledge of all aspects of security surrounding Microsoft technologies is required.  This includes but is not limited to user authentication, file encryption and other validation schemes, DNS, DHCP, WINS, File and Print Services.

§ Must have experience in large scale managed environments in design and system deployment. 

§ Experienced in Windows Scripting with Visual Basic and WMI and other technologies

§ Strong understanding of Microsoft messaging technologies including Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 is required. 

§ Strong understanding of Microsoft System Center Products, SharePoint Portal Server Infrastructure and/or Microsoft Desktop Optimization is preferred

§ Experience with Microsoft MIIS or ILM is desired.

§ Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server design and implementation is desired.

§ Strong understanding of wireless technologies and overall strategy for large scale deployments. 

§ Systems management experience in small to mid scale network environments a must. 

§ Ability to configure Cisco devices such as routers, switches and firewalls desired. 

§ Strong understanding of secure communications methodologies necessary.

§ Strong understanding with network protocols, routing and switching.  (LAN and WAN)

§ Strong interpersonal skills and writing are required

 

Certifications Required: MCSE 2003 or other Microsoft certifications preferred.  CCNA, CCNP or other network certifications desirable. 

 

Bachelors Degree is required
