Job Category:Information Security Primary Location:USA-AL: ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLESchedule:Full-time Job Type:Standard Employee Status:Regular Yes, 25 % of the Time Job Posting: 2008-07-30Description: Essential Job Functions Coordinates MEADS IT Security activities with the contractor and within NAMEADSMA Evaluates implementation of the MEADS IT Security requirements and ensures requirements in the MEADS Protection Profile are met Defines, develops, coordinates with the Nations, and monitors implementation of the MEADS information technology security policy, MEADS Information Technology Security Evaluation Certification Accreditation (MITSCAP) Coordinates information technology security of the MEADS system Oversees system security functions and responsibilities of NAMEADSMA as the focal point for all system IT security activities, reporting, record- keeping and administration Plans, implements and manages an independent evaluation, certification and accreditation process and provides all pertinent IT security-relevant information and documentation to the evaluation laboratory and the Security Accreditation Board Designs more complex application security architecture. Coordinates technical design/review activities with various groups including application development, enterprise architecture, information security, systems, network, and database groups to develop secure frameworks and enterprise applications. Designs the enterprise security infrastructure and architectural topology including recommending hardware, operating system, software, and information security requirements to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and privacy of information systems. Ensure consistency and sufficient integration with existing infrastructure. Monitors, evaluates, and maintains systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems and databases from unauthorized users. Researches, recommends and implements changes to procedures and systems to enhance security. Creates incident response plans, including coordination with appropriate departments, other business units, and appropriate authorities. Educates customers to increase awareness of information security policies and best practices. Collaborates with outside consultants/agencies as appropriate for independent security audits. Collaborates with business management to communicate security risk and countermeasures. May assist and/or provide limited direction to lower level technical personnel. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred Nine or more years of experience in information security Experience working with computer systems Experience working with current and emerging information security technologies and development methodologies Experience working with network software and hardware, data or voice Experience working with proprietary software and hardware Other Qualifications Experience in software development. Knowledge in Common Criteria. Knowledge in the field of Computer Science. Experience in PC handling. Fluency in both written and spoken English. Must be eligible for a US/NATO SECRET security clearance. Good analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of new databases Good skills in time, priority and task management Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members Good communication skills to interact with team members and support personnel Leadership skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Secret Create Success
