Today, CA, formerly known as Computer Associates, serves the majority of the Fortune 1000 companies, as well as government organizations, educational institutions and thousands of other companies in diverse industries worldwide.We are currently looking for a qualified Senior Enterprise Information Architect to join our Global Information Services Enterprise Architecture team at our worldwide headquarters in Islandia, NY.The Senior Enterprise Information Architect serves as a senior member of the Global Information Services Enterprise Architecture team in a Director-level position with primary responsibility for the development, design, communication, implementation, and continued evolution of the Enterprise Information Architecture. The Information Architecture provides the policies, standards, models, and rules for designing and implementing effective software and data services and databases. The Senior Enterprise Information Architect partners with business architects, application architects, infrastructure architects, project teams, and business unit representatives to develop an information strategy that will ensure that the data models, management processes, and roles and responsibilities defined by the Information Architecture will enable effective and efficient alignment of technology solutions with business objectives.The Senior Enterprise Information Architect develops policies, standards, and enterprise level data models to be used in the strategic growth of the organization, translating business needs into long-term architecture solutions and coordinating all future design changes. The Architect ensures that the resulting information architecture will effectively support implementation of Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Business Process Management (BPM) solutions within the enterprise.Key Responsibilities:This position is responsible for developing near-term and long-term plans for the design, development, and implementation of information policies, standards, models, and rules in the context of business goals, objectives, and needs. The Senior Enterprise Information Architect has primary responsibility for defining the data governance architecture.In addition, the Senior Enterprise Information Architect manages the strategy for, and all design aspects of, data warehouse and business intelligence environments and solutions, to include data sourcing, migration, quality, reporting, analytics, dashboarding, and implementation, is responsible for integration design for data propagation, translation, external data, legacy data, and 3rd party products; and resolving gaps. The Information Architect defines, documents, and communicates policies and guidelines on data warehouse architecture approaches and solutions, and on the use of data warehousing methodology. The Information Architect also aids in identifying and prioritizing business information needs, and defining business benefits of data warehousing.The Senior Enterprise Information Architect provides technical leadership to projects focused on introducing systems enhancements, re-engineering, and evolution, along with tactical projects which support broader strategic programs. In this role, the Information Architect acts as lead architect for full life-cycle data design, warehousing, and integration engagements, leading to successful delivery of solutions.The Senior Enterprise Information Architect monitors industry trends, identifies relevant technologies and solutions, and assists in evaluating and selecting data and application tools for business intelligence, data population, data management, metadata management, and warehouse administration. The Information Architect reviews project work products, including project work plans, business activity and information models, test plans, content storage design, and application component designs, for compliance with Information Architecture policies and standards.Minimum Requirements:* 10+ years experience as an IT professional in enterprise-scale environments; at least 5 years in a data modeling/data architecture role * Extensive data and application modeling experience, both traditional relational modeling and dimensional modeling * Extensive technical knowledge and experience in database management techniques including logical data modeling, physical database optimization, data distribution, and database performance monitoring * Must be experienced with data administration, data management, data integration, data standardization, metadata management and repository implementation techniques, and with information management technologies such as data warehouse, executive information system, data mining, business intelligence and enterprise portals * Experience identifying client business analytical needs, and translating them into data warehousing and business intelligence solutions * Successful history of acting as technical lead on full life-cycle application development and data warehouse projects * Must have proven track record of success in large scale distributed, web, and n-tier development projects - qualifying opportunities, devising the solution, developing proposals, presenting to clients, and implementation * Successful record of interaction with clients at all levels - corporate officers, vice-presidents, directors, business and technology management * High level of architecture skills and experience, and a broad understanding of various technologies including: J2EE, JAVA, .NET, HTML and Web Page Design; C/C++, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Internet technologies; reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, and Microsoft Reporting Services * Demonstrated experience developing system design/specification documentation * Strong communications skills are essential; must possess an ability to write succinctly and make effective presentations to large groups including senior executives * Must have strong interpersonal skills * Experience with SAP R/3, SAP Business Warehouse, and SAP NetWeaver is a plus * Business travel of approximately 10 percent yearly is expected for this position * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline required, Advanced degree in Computer Science preferredThere's never been a better time to join CA.
