Senior Developer

Responsibilities Understanding the needs of the business users and translating those requirements into efficient technology solutions. Supporting the technology needs of the trading desk, including implementation of new systems and production support. Work on all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements/analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance). Requirements Minimum 5 years experience developing trading/financial applications at a first tier hedge fund, asset manager or investment bank. Broad knowledge of financial instruments (Fixed Income, interest rate derivatives, currencies, commodities, equities, credit, etc.). Significant Microsoft Windows (.NET, C#, ASP.NET, VB, VBA) development skills. Additional Web development background a plus. Familiarity with Unix and/or Linux environment and tools as a user and developer would be beneficial Proficiency in scripting languagesâ€”Unix/Linux shell, Perl, Windows batch Relational database programming experience (Sybase and MS SQL Server); strong SQL Knowledge of some of these tools would be valuable: Crystal Reports, financial libraries (FinCAD), market data APIs/databases (Bloomberg, Reuters, MarketQA), Microsoft InfoPath. Experience with trading floor environments is desired. Demonstrated use of structured development using solid programming and project practices. Excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
