Today, CA, formerly known as Computer Associates, serves the majority of the Fortune 1000 companies, as well as government organizations, educational institutions and thousands of other companies in diverse industries worldwide.We are currently looking for a qualified Senior Accountant to join our General Accounting team at our worldwide headquarters in Islandia, NY.This position is responsible for compiling and analyzing financial data to be used in financial reports and preparation of journal entries posted to the general ledger, as well as reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing profit and loss analytical reports and working on special projects as determined by management. Key Responsibilities:* Prepare journal entries for posting into the general ledger and regional subsidiary ledgers * Maintain various accounting schedules on a monthly and/or quarterly basis * Reconcile various balance sheet accounts, investigate and resolve variances * Prepare P&L and balance sheet analytical reports * Other monthly, weekly, or daily financial analysis as required * Prepares audit support for internal and external auditors * Assist in the preparation of financial statement footnote disclosure support * Test new applications and system enhancements * Special projects and analysis as required * Supervise work performed by Associate Accountants/Accountants * Process improvements * Assist with SOX compliance * Generally works without consulting their manager * Supervise Associate Accountants and Accountants within the department * Business travel expected is 5% yearly for this position Key Requirements:* Typically 5-7 years or more years accounting experience * CPA preferred * Bachelor's Degree in AccountingThere's never been a better time to join CA.
