Ultimately, this position is located on Andros Island, Bahamas. Responsible for performing Security Guard functions at AUTEC in support of a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors and government assets. Essential Job Functions Provides and controls vehicle and pedestrian access to the facilities and enforces visitor regulations Inspects and controls access of materials into facilities Makes security checks of assigned facilities and areas Patrols the organization as scheduled/required Maintains logs Documents and/or investigates security incidents Perform other duties as assigned. Basic QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent. 1 year related experience working in Customer Service or a Security environment. Valid Drivers License and passport will be required. Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance. Other Qualifications Pass a physical examination given by a licensed physician or health care professional. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Offices. Distant Visual acuity in each eye shall be corrected to 20/30 (Snellen to equivalent) in better eye and 20/40 in the other eye with eyeglasses or contact lenses or contact lenses. If uncorrected, if distant vision is not at least 20/40 in the better eye, the individual shall carry an extra pair of corrective lenses. Near visual acuity, corrected or uncorrected, shall be at least 20/40 in the better. Ability to distinguish red, green and yellow colors. Individuals shall have no hearing loss in better ear greater than 30 decibels average at 500hz, 1,00hz and 2,000hz with no level greater than 40 decibels at any one frequency. Must meet minimum physical standards which include the ability to perform normal or emergency duties requiring physical exertion such as standing/walking/driving/jumping for extended periods of time. Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders. Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds of material or equipment. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
