Business Intelligence (BI) is a core group that provides business reporting and intelligence solutions to all business units within. The BI QA team is responsible for testing financially impacting reports including royalties and bounties as well as ETL processes for the legacy and new Data Warehouses. The software test engineer will work closely with software developers and program managers in testing ETL processes, reports and help with testing automation. Duties include test planning, test case design, testing tool and reusable module development, existing test maintenance, test execution and bug reporting. Testing environment is Unix, Oracle and Teradata.Job Requirements: Minimum: Ability to write complex SQL queries. Solid knowledge of relational databases. Experience in data migration, data analysis and/or data warehousing. Deep understanding of software development life cycle, quality assurance process, software test design strategy and software testing tools. Working knowledge of Unix and shell scripting. Motivated and eager to acquire new skills; Self learner; Able to work independently and as a team; Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capacity to work under pressure in small highly focused team. Preferred: Experience with Microstrategy or equivalent. Experience in Teradata database. Education, Certification, and/or Training: Minimum: BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent. Preferred: MS in Computer Science or equivalent. Experience: Minimum: 3 years of software quality assurance or database development experience. 2 consecutive years of experience with relational databases. Experience with PL/SQL or equivalent. Preferred: 1 year of Report testing or data validation experience. 2 years experience with Data Warehouse. Experience with Unix server based software testing.
