SQA Test Engineer

Position Description:

Brocade is looking for a mid level engineer for this position. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 plus years of systems test background. This individual will be responsible leading test execution, developing and executing the test cases as in the OEM Test Specification. Be able to develop and supervise test feature/function and system level tests for Brocade fibre switches and OEM related products. Interface with OEM team, development, Engineering Support, SQA group to provide test status, problem finding, replication results and problem solutions.

Qualifications:

The responsibilities of the job will require that the candidate possesses a thorough understanding of all SAN components (host OSs, HBAs, switches, and storage) and how they interact with each other. They should possess a strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems and software systems with background in Fibre Channel, TCP/IP, and SANs is desired. The ideal candidate should have test or development experience with some or all of the following 1) operating systems2) embedded systems3) storage devices (disk, arrays, enterprise class storage products, tape)4) storage management applications and solutions (backup, migration, replication,…)5) host bus adapters (HBAs)6) use of FC or TCP/IP test tools for capturing and analyzing trace and for causing impairment7) setup and configuration of test beds, especially in the area of SAN configurations8) C++, C-shell, Tcl, EXPECT, Perl to develop and automate test casesRequirements• 2-5 plus years of experience in software and system testing or development• B.S. / M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering OR applicable degree• Effective verbal and written communication skills• Leadership ability• Strong background in software testing methodology, test development, test execution
