SMS Engineer

Summit Technologies, Inc. has a position available for a Subject Matter Expert - SMS Engineer in Washington DC.

Specific Job Description

· Maintain and manage the SMS infrastructure

· Actively monitor SMS clients health and perform corrective action accordingly

· Actively manage SMS daily operations (package releases, distribution, reporting)

· SMS Report Management

· Design and implement SMS architecture

· Overall understanding of software package development via Wise

· Support Microsoft Active Directory Infrastructure (DNS/WINS/DHCP/GPO)

· Support Server image on different hardware platform

· Provide Tier 3 level escalated support for SMS related issues

· 24/7 on-call rotation schedule

· System design and administration of Microsoft SMS 2003, SMS 2007 a benefit

Required skills

· In-depth understanding of SMS 2003 configuration, maintenance, monitoring and operations

· Experience designing, maintaining, and managing SMS Infrastructure

· Experience working with Microsoft Windows 2003 servers and Windows XP operating systems. Preferably has experience and understanding of clustered servers, IIS web services, Active Directory, and Group Policy

· Excellent writing and communication skills and is able to create project plans, analysis documents, instruction sheets, and systems documentation for completed systems

Desired skills

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory. Knowledge with System Center Configuration Manager (SMS), System Center Operations Manager (MOM)

Security Clearance level required: Clearable for Secret/TS/TS SCI
