Contribute your expertise as a SENIOR SYSTEM ENGINEER. The position of Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and validation of the Windows 2000/2003 server and network infrastructure for corporate and production network. This individual will coordinate and implement numerous large and small scale technical projects, assisting in the creation of strategic and long term planning, and participating in a 24x7x365 on-call support rotation. This Position requires extensive experience in Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory design, group policies, and domain maintenance. Additionally this position requires the ability to leverage a thorough understanding of the interactions between systems to not only troubleshoot problems, but also identify performance-tuning opportunities.
As a while, the Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for all Windows servers, server-side software, and infrastructure equipment including network switches, routers and firewalls. This includes, among other thing infrastructure planning, system monitoring, contingency planning, security, performance tuning, software distribution, Internet connectivity, and production support.

Responsibilities:
· Implement and maintain Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 and Qmail e-mail systems.
· Implement and maintain Microsoft SQL Servers.
· Configure and deploy servers and related equipment.
· Configure and deploy IBM blade servers.
· Configure and maintain IBM director.
· Configure and deploy VMware ESX 3.0 & 3.5 servers.
· Configure and maintain EMC & Netapp SAN infrastructure.
· Maintains and coordinates servicing of all network connected servers and peripherals.
· Designs, implements and validates system and network infrastructure for both cooperation and production including online gaming infrastructure.
· Provides recommendations and technology-based solutions to business requirements.
· Provides support to other staff, troubleshoot problems, answers hardware and software questions, and provides technical assistance.
· Create documentation of server systems, network, operational procedures, topology, and hardware/software inventory.
· Provides technical guidance and mentoring of team members, as needed.
· Maintains a good working knowledge of all Corporation owned hardware and software.
· Documents problem resolutions.
· Deals effectively with people and clearly communicates verbally and in writing.
· Troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves system and user problems.
· Plans, organizes and coordinates work assignments and prioritizes workload.
· Provides backup coverage for the Jr. Systems Engineers, if needed.
· Rapidly deploys fixes to systems in response to newly identified stability and security threats.
· Participates in software license tracking and purchasing.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study and a minimum of 4+ years of IT experience.
· Strong knowledge of TCP/IP required.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Must have strong documentation skills.
· Knowledge of LAN protocols including DHCO, DNX, WINS required.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server Operating Systems required.
· Knowledge of Microsoft systems including, Active Directory and Exchange 2003/2007 required.
· Knowledge of Microsoft best practice for design of Active Directory and Exchange.
· Knowledge of VMware Virtual Center and ESX 3.0 or 3.5 strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of various backup methodologies, backup software, tape drivers, tape libraries, servers and disk arrays.
· Knowledge of Data Center storage environments including the following technologies: SAN, FC, iSCSI, and NAS.
· Knowledge of SAN switching, routing and management products, such as EMC and Netapp SAN/NAS solutions.
· Knowledge of the relevant computer systems, applications and equipment to provide customer support of technical terminology, concepts and applications.
· Knowledge of local and remote computer system diagnostic tools.
· Optional knowledge of networking, Cisco hardware, IOS Switching, VPN and firewall architectures and implementation preferred.
· Optional knowledge of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP preferred.
· Self motivated, with the ability to work in both a team environment and individually.
· Ability to understand and comply to the relevant department and/or corporate policies, procedures and guidelines as they pertain to customer support.
