Essential Job Functions Communicates information about research services and resources in corporate publications to ensure company information needs are met. Contacts outside market research vendors and gathers information from associations, publishers, federal government agencies and other corporate/academic institutions to ensure information is current and accurate. Evaluates costs, justifies, recommends and implements new products, services and/or resources to meet company marketing objectives. Conducts internal and external research for client engagements, new business and proposal development and practice development, presentations, papers, etc. Performs in-depth analysis, integration of point of views and develops conclusion in support of research. Provides ongoing monitoring of competitors, industry events and technologies. Provide analysis for client engagements, new business and proposal development, practice development, executive presentations, etc. Create actionable intelligence for the IT services sector and for vertical markets Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape Synthesize and comment on the critical business news to interested parties Identify, evaluate, and support new contract subscriptions for professional information tools Promote the use and understanding of the Research Network and the capabilities of the department throughout CSCBasic Qualifications Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Master's degree in library science, information science, communications, general business or related field preferred Ten or more years of research or librarian experience Experience working with company used database and statistical software Experience working with research methodologies Experience working with the technology industry Experience working with business and industry resources Five to seven years experience in a corporate, preferably business environment Member in good standing with SCIP, SLA or other Information Profession Association (a plus) Need to be able to work in a collaborative, virtual environment Must have strong interpersonal and time management skills Commitment to lifelong learning of new skillsOther Qualifications Business, strategic planning and competitive intelligence methodologies including formal frameworks such as Porters Five Forces, SWOT Analysis, and Four C's Analysis Deep industry knowledge in one of the following areas: financial services, healthcare, chemicals/natural resources, manufacturing and/or consumer goods Familiarity with standard professional research tools including market research vendors (Gartner, IDC, Forrester) and other business and industry resources (Factiva, Investext, Alacra) Holistic understanding of the Competitive Intelligence process including analysis techniques and forecasting Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to provide client ready presentations and engage with all levels of management Ability to identify and screen the intelligence needs of the corporation Familiarity with Lotus Notes and MS Office Strong customer focus Ability to excel in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment Personal computer and business solutions software skills Strong communication skills Interpersonal skills to gather information and to communicate with employees Organization skills to balance and prioritize work Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong business research skills using such sources as Factiva, Lexis Nexis, Dialog, etc. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability and desire to actively pursue learning opportunities in the research field Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously Remote Work Location Authorized:Yes Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:None Create Success
