10453152Rational Tools AdministratorContractPortland, ORDuration: 1 YearEstimated Start Date: ASAP Requirements:Provide functional and technical administrative support of the Rational toolset used in conjunction with the IT IPS M&G methodology for application development and for operational support of change management solutions.Responsibilities include facilitation and coordination of tool use across IT departments and solution support groups for adherence to best practices and standards, ensuring tools are implemented and used according to industry best practice. Particular emphasis is placed on support and administration of ClearCase for source control and change management.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Facilitate and coordinate requirements gathering reviews for tool use with teams utilizing the Rational toolset.Perform process analysis to ensure tools are utilized in a standard fashion across projectsReview and understand technical and non-technical information pertaining to tool functionality and supportOverall administration of Rational toolsetCoordinate and work with other Rational tool administrators as needed Tools/Applications:Basic Qualifications:Required Knowledge and Experience:Bachelors degree in computer science or related fieldAt least eight years progressively responsible IT experience with strong technical abilitiesThorough understanding of the development life cycleAdvanced skills and knowledge to provide administration of Rational ToolsParticular skill and experience in administering and supporting ClearCaseParticular understanding of UCM and Base ClearcaseExperience supporting Rational tools in both Windows and Unix environmentsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience planning, organizing, and directing work initiatives and activitiesGood interpersonal and written communication skills (including technical writing skills)Good decision-making and problem solvingSelf-directed; proven ability to work in cross-functional/matrixed organizationSpecific Service Center Requirements:Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to assess risks and impactsExperience identifying, developing, and documenting processes and proceduresAbility to lead efforts in implementing and improving development life cycle best practicesAbility to multitask and handle ambiguityPreferred Knowledge and Experience:Previous project lead experience in project management, business systems, development, and systems/software testingSpecific Service Center Preferences:Experience using current industry standard development methodologies such as Rational Unified Process (RUP) Apply Now Location: Portland, OR, 97208Status: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/ProjectJob Category: IT/Software DevelopmentCareer Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) About COMSYS COMSYS IT Partners, Inc.
