Quality & Performance/process Improvement Consultant
Job Summary
Lead initiatives to increase IT operations productivity and performance through the application of industry best practices such as ITIL, Lean and Six-Sigma. Identify operational process improvement opportunities, drive initiatives and oversee implementation.
· Lead cross functional problem solving process improvement efforts to understand, document, and improve current processes that improve effectiveness and efficiency.
· Identify opportunities to implement cost savings and process improvement projects.
· Implement and actively support appropriate Lean/Six Sigma and/or other management tools and practices focused on engaging and empowering employees at all levels of the organization in continuous improvement of the business. These include but are not limited to Process and Value Stream maps, Standard Work and Task Concepts, Cause Effect Diagrams and 5 Y's, DMAIC, PDCA, etc.
· Identify and investigate complexities and inefficient workflows. Measure the effectiveness of improvements and provide management visibility to such improvements through high level reporting.
· Collaborate with functional teams to create and evaluate recommendations to improve process design.
· Implement solutions to achieve significant performance improvements or mitigate risk.
· Create appropriate action plans and ensure execution of the plans against agreed upon deadlines.
· Identify and investigate control and risk mitigation opportunities utilizing various root cause analysis and problem solving techniques.
· Collaborate in the development of performance measurement systems and comprehensive management reporting to support effective process and performance management.
· Collaborate in the development and facilitation of awareness and skills development training for all supported functions.
The individual’s primary role will be re-engineering business operations to improve business results and operational effectiveness:
· Facilitating team meetings in applying the DMAIC methodology
· Defining improvements projects to satisfy the customer
· Measuring inputs and outputs to provide meaningful data
· Analyzing data to identify root cause of variability
· Improving the process to reduce variability
· Controlling the process to prevent backsliding and to consolidate the gains
Other roles may include:
· Tool assessments
· Design and development of standard templates
· Researching industry trends in process improvement
· Production of the Process Improvement Dashboard
· Maintenance of Production of process metrics
· Auditing of process control plans
· Process Improvement training development and delivery, inc. production of training documentation and/or reference materials for use by I/S staff.
· Development of communications re: process improvement
· Improvement of internal processes to increase utilization rates (standardization of administrative processes, documents, templates, metric sheets, etc)
**This position is located in New Hampshire and requires relocation or willingness to travel on a weekly basis**
