Description Organization - Public Service Location - Rosslyn, VA The Public Service operating group serves government organizations around the globe, as well as foundations, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and non-profit enterprises. Job Description Develops, maintains and enhances database code. Provides architectural guidance to support the expansion of the database architecture. Provides database support to the release and production support teams Core Responsibilities: Leads the development, design and overall strategy for how data will be defined, stored and accessed (e.g. multi-site replication, data distribution, data access strategies, data locking, data synchronization, meta data). Facilitates working sessions to obtain input from technical specialists, customers, end users, technical architect, and application designers to define the data requirements and structure for the application. Work with other architects to ensure that all components work together to meet objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements. Leads Data Modeling data modeling effort in support of applications being designed including conceptual, logical, physical data models. Leads the creation and installation of database software (e.g. Oracle) and to address all aspects of database administration including recoverability, integrity, security, availability, reliability, and performance Travel No Travel Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or 4 years IT experience in lieu of a degree. 6 years experience designing and implementing large-scale 24X7 Hot-failover Oracle database. 6 years Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) & Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ) Preferred Skills Performance Tuning Capacity Planning Database Archival Strategies Government Experience Understands People Developer expectations at Accenture & manages own career.
