Opportunity Summary:
LRN has a unique opportunity for the right candidate to fill the role of Project Manager, Content. The role will include planning and executing content development projects for online educational courseware and related products, including translation project management. This Project Manager is responsible for working closely with clients, writers, instructional designers, software engineers, trnanslation vendors, graphic artists and production teams to provide timely and first-class services to our clients.
The right candidate will have demonstrated expertise with standard project management processes and tools, including MS Project. Experience with Enterprise Project Management (EPM) and in the localization/e-learning industries is a huge plus. Fluency or familiarity with multiple languages and/or diverse cultures is helpful but not required.
In addition, the candidate should be familiar with XML, HTML and FLASH programming in order to communicate effectively with software engineers and to occasionally perform editing and troubleshooting of the course software.
Essential Job Function:
• Manage multiple content development projects at one time from start to finish within defined timeframes and budgets, communicating progress to management and client representatives throughout the process.
• Work closely with the clients, writers, instructional designers, software engineers, translation vendors, graphic artists, and production teams to complete content development projects.
• Help monitor, evaluate and evolve processes for process improvement, quality improvement and cost savings.
• Monitor content quality and route issues and defects to the appropriate resources.
Qualification & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a project management position.
• Good understanding of MS Office, MS Project, and Enterprise Project Management (EPM).
• Must have excellent communication skills and be very well organized.
• Should be familiar with basic software programming rules, XML, HTML and FLASH tools in order to edit and troubleshoot courseware when possible, or determine the best resource to address issues if they must be escalated.
• Experience with software development, online publication, eLearning and/or software localization processes a plus.
• Fluency or familiarity with multiple languages a plus.
