Product Marketing Manager for North America

Product Marketing at Philips Solid State Lighting is at the center of the LED lighting revolution by driving solid state lighting product definition and launch to the market. The Product Marketing team owns the product portfolio from cradle to grave working in close partnerships across the entire organization including sales, engineering, marketing, supply chain, manufacturing, quality and compliance. What's more, the product marketing team must develop close relationships with the marketplace including sales representatives, distributors and dealers, lighting designers and end customers. Your Responsibilities: Product Launch (30%)* Deliver Products to market with impact through the product launch process both for new products developed by PSSLS and existing product enhancements launches and reinvigoration of existing products in the market * Drive communications strategy and implementation (with Marketing Communications) for the product marketing tools in designated market(s)* Establish definition of and drive to whole" product availability at the time of launch where the whole product includes, without limitation, product, system, accessories, support plan, sales operations, technical publications, collateral, sales ready messaging and distinct value proposition, FAQs, pricing, production forecast, competitive differentiation, samples, awareness campaign, and as required channel specific packaging / programs / messaging, training plan (sales, support, others), required and appropriate certifications and listings, and fit within existing product portfolioSales Support (30%)* Communications: website content, collateral content, CK Net, sales briefs, Biweekly sales conference calls, Quarterly sales training* Primary sales interface on product: Responsibility for managing the sales team around the latest market/competitive trends, and pricing changes. And supporting business case and market opportunity analysis and support for custom requests* Samples: plan and manage samples and evaluation system program* Sales tools: create both internal and market facing materials that drive product differentiation and remove barriers to winning market opportunities be they technical differentiation, eliminating FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt), clarifying / simplifying differentiated benefits or anything else that enables sales efficiency and effectiveness* Events: support trade show from perspective of planning, messaging, design, setup, and more including staffing the event directlyChannel Development (20%)* Working directly with all NA sales channels (direct sales, 3rd party sales reps, other Philips sales channels, dealers and more) to insure sales effectiveness and efficiency * Track and analyze geographical and market segment revenue performance for NA to identify opportunities for improved performance through messaging, packaging, training, samples, additional resources, alternate channels, and moreProduct Requirements (20%)* Working closely with Product Marketing Managers as expert resource on NA market* Identify and communicate NA specific product requirements for new and existing products* Identify and communicate trends in NA SSL product * Identify and track NA SSL competitors* Identify opportunities for distribution by PSSLS channel in NA of products developed by other Philips companies or 3rd party suppliers and drive product introduction for these Brand Labeled product offerings Your Profile: The ideal candidate is a product marketing and lighting expert who is passionate about drive change in the marketplace Experience Requirements * BSE electrical/mechanical/optics engineering preferred but BA/BS/BSE in any discipline required* MBA preferred but not required* 5+ years experience in product marketing / business development* 3+ years in lighting industry* Excellent written and verbal communications skills* Willingness to travel Contacts: Philips Notes Philips is an equal opportunity employer.
