Product Manager - Business Intelligence

Department: Product Development                                                    

Reports To:   Director of Product Development                                             

 

Summary  

The Product Manager’s focus is to evaluate the use of our applications and products to better understand how they are being used, identify any trends that may be present and make recommendations for improvements.  The Product Manager works as part of a team to accomplish the overall objectives of the position

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Organize; maintain clear product/service direction - including necessary technical features, functionality

Receive; solicit feedback for product improvement - internal and external

Remain up to speed on market developments impacting product and customer's use of product

Direct customer participation to discuss product customization & functionality opportunities for use/improvement

Assist with any needed product clarification - internal/external

Active participation with marketing material creation of product description

Assist sales as necessary with presentations -prep materials, demonstrations, explanation of service

Active participation with product strategy sessions

Be prepared to discuss past, current, future status of product

Company updates on product as needed

Understand; know value and satisfaction of product

Envision and articulate long term Business Intelligence strategy and product roadmap.

Identify opportunities to expand Business Intelligence offerings with customers.

Evaluate and implement proper tools for access to data both internal and external.

Improve self service reporting capabilities for end users both internal and external.

Participate in evaluating the design and future of the DW tables and processes.

Education and/or Experience                                               

Bachelors degree in business or computer science.

3 years of product management experience.

Experience creating product strategy, product roadmaps, and business cases.

Experience soliciting requirements from customers and end users through a consultative approach.

Experience directing teams and projects from concepts to implementation.

Knowledge of multiple Business Intelligence presentation tools.

Technical expertise with databases and data warehousing concepts.

Experience with Product Management in and Agile environment a plus.
