Principal Sustaining Engineer

Today, CA, formerly known as Computer Associates, serves the majority of the Fortune 1000 companies, as well as government organizations, educational institutions and thousands of other companies in diverse industries worldwide.We are currently looking for a qualified Principal Sustaining Engineer to join our Wily Sustaining team at our office in South San Francisco, CA.Key Responsibilities:* Work closely with developers and performance engineers to enhance supportability and identify performance bottleneck in the product * Work with support engineers, professional services and sales engineers to investigate customer and field escalated cases, and to recommend resolutions accordingly * Analyze, troubleshoot and set up test environments for debugging Wily and 3rd party code * Check in bug fixes and work with release management, QA to generate patch releases * Design, implement and test escalated enhancement feature requests to enhance product functionality as needed * Travel to customer sites on an as needed basis Key Requirements:* Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Experience in core Java and J2EE required * Previous system level programming/development experience * 8+ years of industry experience * 5+ years of sustaining role experience * Must be detail oriented, a self starter and be able to work independently * Exceptional problem solving/debugging skills * Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task * Experience with multi-platform and multi-threaded enterprise software a plus * Database (Oracle, DB2) experience a plus * Bachelor's Degree of Science required, Master's preferred At CA's Wily Technology Division you will be working with top notch talent, where responsibility is more than just your job title, cool technology is growing fast and where software that is being written will be on the market quickly.
