Principal Engineer/ compliance of Company's telecommunications/optical switching/data products
DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for activities related to compliance of Company’s telecommunications/optical switching/data products to regulatory, NEBS and Product Safety requirements for worldwide markets.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Degree Engineer, BSEE or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
• 11 years or more in Regulatory Compliance environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Establish design guidelines for Compliance requirements for new products
· Recommend electrical and mechanical design solutions to meet Compliance requirements.
· Test and evaluate compliance to regulatory and customer specific standards such as, FCC, Telcordia GR-1089 and GR-63, UL/EN/IEC 60950-1, ETSI/CE marking, AT&T/SBC 76200, etc.
· Responsible for operating and help maintaining in-house EMI Lab and equipment.
SKILLS:
· Good understanding of Telecommunication regulatory standards.
· Excellent test plan and report writing skills.
· Working knowledge of test equipment and engineering design principles.
· Advanced EMI/Compliance design problem solving skills.
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Multi tasking with Program Management Skills a plus.
• Self motivated team player.
