Platform Engineer II / 08-15975

Position Description:

The Platform Engineer is expected to provide solutions to promote the effective management and maintenance of our client computing environment. This position will be responsible for the continual analysis and evolution of current systems and be expected to provide recommendations based on the review and evaluation of existing and emerging technologies. While the focus is on client computing, a solid understanding of all infrastructure technologies is essential for success as this role includes heavy project involvement across all systems administration disciplines. By becoming a part of our growing Platform Engineering team, the Platform Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and evolving the technical processes and mechanisms for building client computers enterprise wide. Additionally, they will be accountable for managing our desktop process and configuration management utilities based on need, value and feedback from the technical community. They will develop innovative solutions using cutting-edge technologies to completely automate our build process and reduce time from build to deployment. The ability to make timely and appropriate decisions, to work closely with others to resolve problems/conflict and to multi-task on open problems is expected. An extensive degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Qualifications:

A+ Service Technician Certification a plus.Microsoft Certified Professional or higher a plus!Installation of applications via LandeskCreates completely automated installation packages for shrink-wrap, home-grown and MSI applications.Works with appropriate teams to develop standards and policies that will be enforced and delivered via Active Directory Group PolicyProvides 3rd level technical support and provides training and documentation for 1st level support to helpdesk. Keeps abreast of current technical developments in systems related technology topics.
