Position Description:
Pragmatics is seeking a seasoned Performance Test Engineer professional responsible for participating in all phases of project delivery. The successful candidate may be assigned to multiple projects. Role will include identifying and realizing opportunities to introduce and improve test practices, particularly around performance testing. Responsibilities include the creation of test assets, including test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, as well as test execution, analysis, and reporting. In addition, the candidate will demonstrate solid communications, problem solving, customer service skills and a strong ability to work in a team environment. The ability to function independently is required, and prioritization of work from multiple concurrent projects is also necessary. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience creating and executing test plans; excellent organizational, planning, and problem solving skills; The ability to collaborate with technology partners to ensure end-to-end quality of applications; Strong verbal and written communications skills; Background in systems integration & development is strongly preferred.
Duties and Responsiblities may include but not limited to:
Managing testing architecture (software and hardware, cluster of Windows 2003 - servers and remote agents)
- Assist in developing and maintaining Performance Stress Test policies, processes, and procedures
- Provide feedback to project staff and managers on testing standards compliance
- Provide consulting and coaching as a subject matter expert
- Assess testing artifacts, environment, processes, and effectiveness
- Develop, debug, implement, verify and validate test scripts
Technical Requirements:
- 2 – 3 Years of Experience using SilkPerformer, SilkTest, SilkMeter, SilkCentral Test Manager, and dynaTrace Diagnostics
- 3 - 5 Years of Practical Experience performing performance/load testing and managing the testing architecture (cluster of Windows 2003 servers and remote agents)
- 5+ years of progressive QA experience and at least three years doing Whitebox testing
- Programming or scripting experience and should be strong using Borland Silk products
- Experience performance/load testing applications on Windows, UNIX, and IBM mainframe platform, and Client/Server, Web apps, Java/SOA, Citrix, SUN Solaris for UNIX, Microsoft Windows XP/2000/2003/2008, and mainframe DB2 and TN3270 applications
- Expert knowledge of Quality Assurance practice and procedures
- 5+ years experience testing software especially web applications
- Experience in testing complex high performance websites
- Should have clear understanding on overall web framework and internet technology.
- Strong QA automation experience using Silk Test, Silk Performer, QTP and internally developed tools
- Strong database knowledge
- Develop SQL, PL/SQL, Perl, Java and ColdFusion scripts.
- Skilled using Java or C or C++ to write a program for a given problem in that language
- Clear understanding on HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, XHTML,XSLT
- Windows and UNIX OS platform experience
- Good Communication Skills
- Flash/Flex applications testing experience is highly desirable
- Testing experience with e-Commerce applications
