PeopleSoft Senior System Tester
We have a client located in New York, NY currently seeking to fill a contract position for a PeopleSoft Senior System Tester Under the direction of the Test Lead, the PeopleSoft Sr. System Tester will develop and execute a formal test approach and plans to ensure delivery of quality functionality for PeopleSoft HRMS customizations, patches and upgrades. Develop and execute test cases and plans for system, functional, stress, regression, smoke, integration, performance, load and user acceptance testing. Track system defects with defect tracking tool and provide supporting reports and documentation. This position will work closely with the Project Manager, Functional Design Lead, Test Lead and key business partners to design, develop, test and implement product initiatives to support production. This person will work in various teams, but will need to have the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: Work in a functional/technical capacity with a good understanding of business processes, relational databases and PeopleSoft table structure Collaborate with release teams to provide analysis, design, development and testing guidance and support. Streamline implementation and support of project systems. Update documentation and improve processes. Project-Focused Responsibilities: New Functionality Releases: Responsible for a subset of the testing the customization and integration work associated with the expansion of the current PeopleSoft baseline (NYCAPS) to include new modules and/or new functionality to existing modules. Existing Functionality: Responsible for testing across multiple environments, related to fixes/patches, enhancements and upgrades to existing NYCAPS functionality including testing code changes to existing objects, interfaces and conversions necessitated by data fixes, functionality patches, and upgrades; as well as production support tasks related to the identification, tracking and resolution of issues found in the production environment. Agency Rollout Support: Responsible for testing conversion data and interface programs to ensure quality and integrity. Required Qualifications: Possess a thorough understanding of development and testing methodologies Experience with Peopletools, upgrade/patch testing, ERP Technical Architecture, and blackbox testing 3+ years experience creating testing deliverables that include Test Strategies, Cases and Scripts Strong analytical and problem solving skills (i.e. analysis, recreation and documenting the impact on the system overall) 3+ years experience testing PeopleSoft 8.x configuration, new functionality, patches, fixes and upgrades Thorough knowledge performing data analysis using PeopleTools (SQR and SQL) Functional knowledge of HR Benefits and payroll administration processes 3+ years experience testing legacy systems and 3rd party vendor interfaces 3+yrs experience using automated testing and performance testing tools (preferably: Rational Suite). Preferred Qualifications: Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementations Experience working with PeopleSoft Implementations in a government or civil service environment. Excellent Communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. Experience working within a matrix environment.
