PC / LAN Specialist II

Primary Responsibilities Â· LAN and Domain support – including troubleshooting TCP/IP problems, WINS, DNS and Active Directory Info structure· Distribute and maintain enterprise-wide Symantec anti-virus platform· Perform routine audits on workstations to assure virus and service pack readiness· Perform upgrades, maintenance, installation and backups as needed for Windows-based computers· Create and maintain software installation images· Assist with helpdesk call handling and trouble resolution· Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, access rights and security policy standards· Provide full-time PC hardware support.  This will include such tasks as repairs, upgrades, installation and configuration of hard drives, modems, network cards, video cards, memory, etc.;· Provide full-time PC software support.  Tasks will include the installation, removal, and configuration of multiple types of industry standard and custom software· Accessing the internet to perform hardware and software updates· Maintain a high degree of professional communications with internal customers and company executives regarding the use and implementation of network services and systems· Must be able to work independently as well as with a team· Ability to work with end users to investigate and resolve hardware and software issues while ensuring customer satisfaction· Travel may be necessary· Some evening and weekend work may be required· Develop, manage,  and implementation of Active Directory policies and Windows Scripts Education and Experience· Training in at lease two of the following:, MCSE, Network +, A+ (Certification not required, but preferable)· 5-8 years providing primary support for PC, LAN and IP network equipment· 5-8 years full-time experience with personal computers· 5-8 years full-time experience in a Windows domain or Active Directory network environment· Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2000/2003, Internet Explorer, Windows 2000 through XP· Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills· Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment· Desire to provide excellent customer service About Insight Communications Insight Communications is the tenth largest cable operator in the United States with approximately 713,000 customer relationships in the three contiguous states of Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
