About the Position

Under general supervision, supervises the daily operations of the Network Support team to assure the delivery of the highest quality of Network infrastructure support. Directs workflow, resolves technical problems and ensures general operations conform to established standards. Supervises the development, installation and maintenance of an integrated network system. Establishes short and long-range goals to ensure network capacity meets future network requirements, including the development of methodologies and strategies for system analysis, installation and support. Has primary responsibility and oversight for supporting the IT infrastructure in a multi-vendor, multi-platform computer and network environment. Develops and implements standards, policies, and procedures along with Manager and Director to ensure the viability and integrity of the entire network.

Candidate Requirements:

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent technical training. Special certification such as CCNA,CCIE and/or CISSP desirable.

Skills and Experience:

At least seven to ten years network engineering experience. Must possess extensive knowledge of multi-protocol systems and implementation experience with multi-vendor network systems. An in depth knowledge of Ethernet networks, ability to design and troubleshoot network problems; along with a solid understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, VRF, OSPF. Design and troubleshooting experience of Cisco routed and switched networks are desired. Must possess the ability to transport and lift hardware components such as PCs, network equipment, etc.

Must be familiar with a diverse set of network topologies including Cisco switches and routers; and support systems such as Ciscoworks, HP Openview, related network and security software such as Cisco PIX firewall and VPN concentrator, along with

related wiring schema. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of personnel in discussions and explanations of complex data. Strong communications skills, including effective oral presentation skills and excellent writing skills. Demonstrated ability to execute complex analytic projects. Proficiency with other business related software applications (e.g., MS Word, Access, Excel, Access and other data analysis tools, etc.). Well skilled in Project Management concepts. Prior supervisory experience in IT capacity desired.
