Web Developer (PL/SQL; Oracle)

PURPOSE:

The Oracle PL/SQL Developer contributes to the development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of Freelife’s web and corporate systems environment. Under the guidance of the Director-Application Solutions, this role works closely w/ the Sr. Application Developer to collaborate with internal customers, staff members, IT Colleagues and other stakeholders to define customer requirements and system interfaces, assess available technologies, and develop and implement solutions.

This position requires strong knowledge of Oracle Technology tools such as Oracle Developer (Forms and Reports), SQL, PL/SQL, WEB PL/SQL, PL/SQL collections, Oracle queuing, stored procedures and packages, UNIX shell scripts and other Oracle E-Business Suite technologies (Workflow, XML, etc.). They must be familiar with change and configuration management methodologies, the Oracle AIM methodology, and project management techniques.

Incumbents must understand the procedures and expected system performance associated with the introduction of new information technologies. They share responsibilities with other team members to ensure on-time product delivery. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with the organization’s policies. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Include the following; other duties may be assigned: Maintain application interfaces, reports, conversion programs and custom functionality.  Some API development may be required (with the assistance of the Sr. Application Developer). Follow approved program specifications during all design, code, test, debug and document phases of assigned tasks and/or projects. Perform testing of Oracle Applications patches, upgrades and modifications. Taking direction and guidance from the Sr. Applications Developer, the Web Developer works to translate business requirements into technical specifications and unit test plans. The Web Developer will code, test, debug, and coordinate acceptance testing with key functional users across the organization. She/He will be responsible for proper documentation (design, process flow, Q/A process, production schedule, error handling) and ultimate implementation into the production environment. Will support multi-national/lingual use of E-Business Modules supplementing the production support teams as needed. Troubleshooting of production issues, performance tuning, coordinating with Oracle Support. QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 8+ years experience in application design, development, installation and modification in an e-Commerce/e-Business online/webstore environment. A minimum of 8+ years of experience with Oracle development tools (SQL/PLSQL/Forms/Reports). A minimum of 8+ years of experience with development, support and enhancements in an Oracle production environment EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training. SKILLS: PL/SQL, SQL, WEB PL/SQL. Experience in designing/architecting using advanced PL/SQL techniques. Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports (6i). PL/SQL collections. HTML. Oracle 11i Application Suite – development experience (AP, GL, CM, FA, OM, MFG) UNIX Shell Scripts. Experience with performance tuning in SQL. Workflow customizations and development. Proficient in Microsoft Office products:  Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills and extremely detail-oriented. Project management skills and an ability to multi-task and prioritize frequently changing needs. Ability to demonstrate good judgment and discretion. Work as a team player with employees at all levels. Self-starter and positive personality. Ability to work with multiple interruptions and tight deadlines. Ability to be flexible with multiple projects and changing situations. Work independently.
