We invent, engineer and deliver technology solutions that drive business value, create social value and improve the lives of our customers.Looking for top notch candidate to join the HP Notebook Supply Chain!   The HP Notebook Supply Planner plays a key role in managing our China based overseas factories. They convert the forecasted customer demand into supply requirements and ensure execution to that commitment.You will be part of a functional group that owns supply planning for all ODM notebook factories around the world. You will work in cross-functional teams focused on a set of products typically assembled at factories located in Shanghai. As part of a team, you will allocate the supply and capacity commitment by region during all phases of the product lifecycle, from new product introductions to end of life management. Responsibilities include:  * Managing the weekly demand supply matching process that results in an executable finished good commitment using available planning system tools * Collaborate with other SC functions (Asia Ops, Strategic Procurement, and NPI) to identify and analyze risks, develop contingencies, and communicate with key stakeholders to ensure predictability of the commitment. * Communicate supply risks proactively as discrepancies are uncovered * Manage platform transitions to strike the proper balance between maximizing predictability and minimizing obsolescence exposure in the 0-4 month timeframe. * Initiate, manage, and monitor inventory buffer strategies to meet agreed upon service levels. * Facilitate the communication of a clean forecast signal to the supply base. * Ensure System and Data Integrity issues are recognized and resolved. * Actively participate in the development of new processes and ensure adherence to specific planning strategies to support business objectives while maintaining the most cost effective supply chain. * Manage the material aging process to avoid unnecessary obsolescence and layering costs. Qualifications/Profile  EducationBachelor's (undergraduate) degree in Science or Business Administration Experience3+ years purchasing/planning experience (scheduling experience is preferred)Experience in contacting clients and/or suppliers to resolve problemsSupply chain management experience Candidate's profile should reflect most or all of the following knowledge, skills, and attributes: * Able to self-structure work to stay above the unnecessary, less impactful details. * Track record of delivering results on time that are targeted at the appropriate level of complexity. * Creates, updates, and maintains processes that are well understood and supported by stakeholders and used for driving and documenting decisions and strategies. * Applies appropriate sciences and methodologies to the solution of critical business needs.* Comfortable and effective in the process of co-creation in both small and large groups. Responds in a positive manner to changing situations and last minute scrambles. Provides support to others to accelerate the change process. * Steps in to do the job that is needed.
