Network/UNIX Administrator
Rocket Software is a sophisticated highly distributed Software company. We developing and test software on a wide range of systems and platforms, including all flavors of Unix (Solaris, HP-UX, RHEL, AIX, Suse). Employees are spread all over the world and everything and everyone is connected using a complex global network used for voice video and data.
In your position as a Network / Linux administrator you will be a member of the IT Systems and Infrastructure team, with the following primary tasks ;
· Maintain, troubleshoot, extend and further improve the worldwide Rocket networking environment, including home users with IP phones/Router, remote offices, core switches, Lan room, VLAN’s, Pix Firewall, CCME, Call manager, Unified communications, VOIP equipment, both in production as well as test Lab environments.
· Provision, setup, maintain and run operations for the Unix and networking portion of lab environments for the various Software Development and QA teams. These lab environments contain both bleeding edge new technology and early release version software as well as old and proven devices and versions of software and everything in between. The reliability and availability requirements for these lab environments are on par with what other companies would characterize as production environments.
· Support users (colleague employees)
Required skills and traits:Experience with complex networking environments and configuration of networking devices, routers switches (Cisco IOS).Experienced in setup and configuration of various Unix flavors (Solaris, HP-UX, RHEL, AIX, Suse).Team player.
Desired / nice to have in addition to required skills;Cisco certifications.Programming skills / background.EMC and other storage devices.VM-Ware experience.Operating Unix in an active directory infrastructure.Will learn what you don’t know attitude.
