Configure, operate, and maintain enterprise network management systems (i.e. Cisco Works, HP OpenView, NetIQ) and provide necessary backup of such systems. Conduct the evaluation, design, and development of data networking and telecommunications systems (Hardware & Software). Conduct analysis of network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput), troubleshoot problems and recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network and system components. Perform installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, transitions, conversions and cutovers of components and capabilities including servers PCs, printers, scanners, laptops, routers, VPNs, hubs and smart switches used in AFOSI's network infrastructure. Maintain and apply an in-depth technical understanding of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN), Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS). Perform Quality Assurance (QA), testing and diagnostics on new technologies and write reports as directed by AFOSI Task lead. Perform cost and benefit analysis on new products/systems as directed by the Government. Develop and submit written technical documentation (i.e., configuration management documentation, set-up instructions, technical installation guides, and architectural diagrams among others) as directed AFOSI Task Lead. Attend joint DCIIS Technical Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) when formed for special projects and attend meetings on behalf of AFOSI at the DCIIS Information Security (InfoSec) IPTs. Provide project status reports and develop briefings for senior leadership under the guidance of XIPA and the COTR. Perform Information Assurance activities as directed by the Task Lead (i.e. develop C& A packages, and other security related documents). Perform vulnerability/risk analyses of computer/network systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle. Develop configuration management controls for all architectural solutions. Implement CI-Net VPN solution under the guidance and directions of Architectural Lead and the DCIIS PM. Lead and coordinate the maintenance of complex data, voice or video network hardware and systems; investigates and resolves complex network and hardware matters of significance; researches, analyzes, isolates and resolves errors; assesses and evaluates current and future systems. Design, implement and maintain more complex LAN, WAN, or Voice Systems in accordance with specified requirements. Analyze data, voice or video network documentation and assists in communicating to management regarding the current operational status of networks. Determine methods and procedure for new data, voice or video technologies to ensure performance. Determines approach for customer, based on assessment of customer needs. Provide consultation, support and guidance to organizations and clients. May develop and conduct training as needed or appropriate. Participate in discussions regarding project decisions and project direction at the executive level. Manages client expectations and balances the needs of organization and client to ensure satisfaction for all relevant parties. Participate in proposal efforts and sales calls to ensure product meets client specifications.
