Network Systems Administrator
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Infrastructure Services in the University Housing-Information Technologydepartment, this position serves as the Systems Analyst. The Infrastructure Services team is responsible for proper installation, configuration and monitoring of network equipment; various systems administration (Windows and Linux); systems security of all IT resources; phone and cable TV services, and other infrastructure initiatives. This position is responsible for analyzing the current and future needs of Housing and developing adaptable solutions, support changing demands and problems. This includes the analysis of systems, network and infrastructure needs from the perspectives of systems and network engineering; and proposing, developing, and implementing solutions to address these challenges. This Systems Analyst also serves as a primary administrator for ResNet and Housing administrative systems and network and works in teams on projects and problem resolution. This position will assist the Manager of Infrastructure Services and will participate in the design and development of various infrastructure projects with other University Housing IT staff to ensure the overall quality of support for the data, voice, and video networks for University Housing. This position will assist the efforts of the Housing IT team to provide technology and computing support to 6,800 students who live in the residence halls on campus, 1,098 student families and 150 faculty who live at the University Student and Faculty Apartments, thousands of guests in summer conference housing, and Division staff at various locations across campus.
