Network Support Technician
Sterling, VA
Description:
Network Support Technician on the DEAnet (Drug Enforcement Administration) Project team. Incumbent will have the ability to provide hands on assistance and training on DEAnet to site users. Also provide network engineering support to the DEANet NOC at the IT Center in Sterling, VA.
Requirements:
· Six years technical experience, preferably in a Network Security/Operations Center environment.
· Level One Help Desk experience
· Configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and management of the following devices:
- Extensive configuration and troubleshooting experience with BGP (IPV4 and IPV6), MGBP and OSPF
- Extensive use of the following network management tools: SNMP Traps and product MIBs, HP OpenView,
General Dynamics Encryptor Manager (GEM).
· Must be available for 50% travel.
Desired Experience:
* Configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and management of the following devices:
- Juniper Routers and Netscreen firewalls
- Cisco Routing and Security family of products
- Netscreen Security Manager
- Configuration, and troubleshooting expertise in IPV6 and Multicast
- Configuration and troubleshooting experience with BGP (IPV4 and IPV6), MGBP and OSPF
- Experience with the following network management tools: SNMP Traps and product MIBs, HP OpenView,
General Dynamics Encryptor Manager (GEM).Motorola and/or M/A-COM RF systems
*Remedy Help Desk application
Education Requirements:
Engineering Degree with emphasis in Network or Information Systems Management and equivalent experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management.
Additional:
Due to the nature of work performed in our facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
Candidate must have active DoD Secret Clearance or have ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance leading to Secret Clearance. Must also be eligible for DOJ (DEA) Clearance.
