Network Specialist

Primary Purpose:

Support and operate the district's central administrative computer network servers.  Develop, maintain, and monitor all district local area networks and wide are networks.  Responsible for installation, testing, and upkeep of all network and server hardware, software, and related equipment.

Special knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Windows NOS including Windows 2003, Active Directory, and Exchange

Highly-skilled network professional with proficiency in the theoretical and practical application of networking principles including analysis, programming, and software engineering.

Knowledge of LAN and WAN network design and installation.

Knowledge of network hardware and software applications including network servers, switches, printers and other equipment.

Ability to work with multiple operating systems and network protocols.

Ability to analyze and resolve computer network problems.

Knowledge of network security and intruder detection.

Experience with an enterprise level back-up system including tape libraries.

Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team.
