Job Category:Information Security Primary Location:USA-CO: COLORADO-COLORADO SPRINGSSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Standard Employee Status:RegularJob Posting: 2008-08-06Description: Network Security Engineer to analyze system logs and configurations from PIX firewalls and Cisco IDS, supporting the Information Office at the Joint National Integration Center (JNIC) Research & Development Contract (JRDC), SAFB, CO. Essential Job Functions Coordinate with MDA regions for network vulnerability identification and resolution.Review proposed network modifications. Propose sustaining engineering changes.Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide appropriate security solutions. Designs and develops platforms to address patch management, vulnerability management, and identity management. Provides input for documentation of new or existing security programs to ensure information safe and secure accessibility. Participates in the design, development, troubleshooting and analysis of security software programs that operate successfully with hardware systems. Assists in customizing purchased applications and assists in the maintenance of program libraries and manuals based on research and customer needs. Provides feedback and reports to management on the status and availability of security software and hardware to ensure proper functioning. Obtains and documents assumptions and security requirements from networking groups. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field preferred Six or more years of experience in network security engineering or operating systems programming Experience working with security system design and coding languages Experience working with security software design principles Experience working with computer hardware Other Qualifications CISSP Security Certification required IAW DoD 8570.1-MSecurity experience is required Analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of software Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members Good communication skills to interact with team members and senior support personnel Ability to work in a team environment Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Secret Create Success
