Our client in Tucson has an immediate need for a Security Consultant for a long-term engagement in Tucson, AZ. 


Position-Related Responsibilities:
*  Responsible for day-to-day security administration of the organizations* data systems, e-mail applications, and networks.

*  Assesses security risks and exposures by participating in security reviews, evaluations, and risk assessments.

*  Monitors security across the network and ensures resolution of security issues and threats.

*  Provides anti-virus and spam administration and support. 

*  Lead or participate in IT projects as needed to provide information security expertise.

Knowledge is expected in the following disciplines:
*  Access Control Administration
*  Firewall Administration
*  Hardware/software Security testing and evaluation
*  Information Security Awareness programs and communications
*  Intrusion Detection and Analysis
*  Incident Handling Practices and Procedures
*  Computer Forensic Practices and Procedures
*  Information Security Policy and Standards Development
*  Information Security Risk Assessment


Required Background:
*  Bachelor*s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline is preferred.

*  Effective written and oral communication skills are required plus a willingness to learn in a rapidly changing environment.

*  Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

*  Ability to perform 7 X 24 support on a rotating basis.

*  Assists more experienced administrators on projects and deals with day to day support.

*  Requires self-direction and the ability to work with vendors on creating statements of work and completing that work.

*  Requires Industry certifications (i.e. GSEC or CISSP) or equivalent experience of 3-5 years in an information security or network discipline.

*  Creates budgets for projects and maintains accountability for the actual dollars charged to that budget.

*  Completes projects and provides strategic direction on how the state of information security should evolve.

*  Visionary that is proficient at all required information security aspects and helps others to become more proficient.
