Job Title: Network Infrastructure Technician

Overview: Abacus Technology is in need of a Network Infrastructure Technician to provide support for Cisco equipment as well as troubleshooting hardware and software issues.  This is a full-time position supporting FE Warren AFB.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities: Configuring and installing switches.  Provide VLAN management.  Performing moves, adds, and changes using Active Directory.  Troubleshoot and resolve users’ connectivity issues to include software and hardware issues up to and including the network device.  Installing and managing UPS.  Utilize network monitoring tools to maintain the overall health of the network and idenify problems as they arise.  Troubleshoot at the physical layer, utilizing hand tools to repair wall jacks and patch panel connections and fabricate cables.

 

Qualifications:  3-5 years experience in a technical support role.  Work related certifications such as CCNA, Networking+, Security+, A+, MCP, or MCSA/MCSE are desired.  Must be proficient with Cisco equipment including 2960/3750/6500 switches, CiscoWorks, and Cisco ACS.  Experience with Windows server and desktop software.  Proficient in the OSI model with an emphasis on Layers 1, 2, and 3, the OSPF routing protocol, and network monitoring tools.  Technician should be able to lift 50 lbs.  Good communication and customer service skills.
