Job Category:Network Services Primary Location:USA-MA: MASSACHUSETTS-WALTHAMSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Standard Employee Status:RegularJob Posting: 2008-08-19Description: Essential Job Functions Manages the overall delivery of engineering solutions for network engineering centers to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of systems. Serves as the primary point-of-contact for network engineering services, network scope expansion, and contract management to ensure customer needs are met. Oversees the work of network engineering personnel to ensure timely and accurate service and technical support to customers. Ensures timely response to customer emergencies and outages during working hours and on an on-call basis to provide optimal service levels. Acts as advisor to client(s) in developing network plans and in the design and implementation of new or modified LAN/WAN to ensure effective business solutions. Develops network systems analysis standards and methodology consistent with technical requirements to ensure proper analysis and documentation of network capabilities. Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines. Prepares, recommends and oversees development of operating and personnel budgets. Monitors spending for adherence to budget plans, develops and recommends variances. Performs and/or oversees budget analysis. Basic Qualifications Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Master's degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering or related field preferred Twelve or more years of network engineering experience Nine or more years of supervisory or management experience included Experience working with TCP/IP and other transport protocols within LAN/WAN environments Experience working with technologies related to routers, hubs, bridges, and switches Other Qualifications Strong human relations skills to select, develop, mentor, discipline and reward employees Strong project management skills to develop and implement client systems Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members Strong communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:None Create Success
