Network Administrator III

POSITION DESCRIPTION -

The LAN/WAN technician will be responsible for problem resolution, hardware maintenance, project implementations, and overall O & S responsibilities associated with maintaining an ATM network. The LAN/WAN technician will be responsible for working problem reports, assessing engineering orders, and implementing assigned engineering orders. This job is for Third Shift and requires weekend support.

Duties and qualifications, identifying both essential and marginal duties:

Provide LAN and WAN network connectivity and end-to-end testing
• Coordinate with other sites to address potential O & S system issues
• Proactively and actively keep all systems up and operational
• Execute the deployment of all engineering orders
• Review all engineering projects
• Maintain and document all network configurations
• Work with Vendors to complete hardware/software upgrades
• Open/Close trouble tickets, Infrastructure Service Request, RSR's, and Engineering orders
• Provide monthly crytpo key loads



Physical Requirements:

Visual Acuity - Working on a computer. Must be able to communicate by phone and in person with customers and appropriate organizations. Physical-Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements:

This position requires either a Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years experience or equivalent work experience. Must have excellent interpersonal skills; be able to handle multiple tasking. The candidate must be able to work in a matrixed organizational structure. Additionally, prefer the candidate be familiar with the government customer’s organizational structure. Must have technical experience in order to effectively speak to technical and design issues where required.
• Should have ATM experience. Working knowledge of LANE.
• Should have experience of routing technologies, preferably OSPF
• Should have working knowledge with the following equipment or equivalent:
o Cisco
o Marconi
o Foundry
o General Dynamics Fastlane/Taclanes

Security Clearance Required:

TS/SCI
